A man was shot in an officer involved shooting early Saturday morning after calling Desoto police and telling them there was an active shooter at his group home and everyone was dead.
Once officers responded to the 500 block of Meadow Hill Drive they found a man with a knife walking out the door approaching them in a threatening manner.
Officers asked the suspect to drop the weapon but he continued to walk towards officers so an officer fired two rounds striking the man in his abdomen.
He was then transported to a nearby hospital with non life threatening injuries.
No one else was injured at the scene.
The identity of the suspect or officers will not be released at this time.
Desoto Police are investigating the overall situation and Grand Prairie Police Major Crime Unit will be handling the shooting part of the incident to ensure transparency.
