Oklahoma Father Arrested And Charged After Two Children Die Inside A Hot Car

An Oklahoma father has been charged after his two young children were found dead in a hot truck Saturday afternoon.
Dustin Dennis,31 called officers Saturday after he says he woke up from a nap and found his children laying on the floorboards of his vehicle.
Dennis told police that he went to the store and when he came back he went inside the house and took a nap for about 5 hours.
Once he woke up he couldn’t find the children and when he went outside he found them unconscious on the floor.

He says he picked them up, took them inside the home and contacted police.
The children were pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers reviewed surveillance footage from the neighbors and discovered that when Dennis came from the store he never went to the backseat to get the kids but instead went into the home and did not return for several hours.
Dennis was arrested and charged with two counts of second degree murder and given a $750,000 bond.
