One Person Dead After A Shooting At A Garland Gas Station

One man is dead and two others injured after a shooting in Garland Thursday afternoon.
Officers were called to a gas station on the 1800 block of Kingsley for a disturbance involving a group of people outside fighting.
Once they arrived witnesses outside told them that people were fighting shots were fired and that they fled the scene in two different vehicles.
Shortly there after officers were dispatched to a shopping strip on the 1900 block of S First St where the caller said two people had pulled up in an suv suffering from gunshot wounds.
One male was pronounced dead at the scene inside the vehicle and the other was Jairo Sait Saavedra who was transported to a nearby hospital but later released.

After reviewing footage officers learned that a 15 year old and Saavedra both went to their vehicles retrieved handguns and exchanged gunfire.
Officers believe the 15 year old is responsible for shooting the deceased and Saavedra.
The 15 year old is currently being held in the Garland Juvenile Detention Center for murder and Saavedra was also arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and is being held Garland Detention Center.
