One Student Deceased Another Injured During Shooting Outside Lamar High School; Shooting Suspect In Custody

A shooting outside of an Arlington high school left one male deceased and a female with injuries.
The shooting occurred shortly before 7 a.m. near Lamar High school parking lot. Officers responded to the 1400 block of Lamar Blvd to find a male and female student shot.
Emergency crews arrived and transported the male to an area hospital where he passed away. The female victim was transported by a probate vehicle and is expected to survive.
While investigating authorities arrested a male student and he is facing capital murder charges. The juvenile is facing more charges.
Officers also recovered a weapon from the scene and believe that the shooting was targeted.
The shooting remains under investigation.
