Authorities are trying to determine how a disagreement between ex-family members turned into a deadly shooting that occurred overnight, on Sunday, in Houston.

The incident happened, close to 2 a.m., at a used car dealership in the 7800 block of Fallbrook Dr.

A worker at the location told authorities that he, the owner, and the owner’s former brother-in-law, had been consuming beers at the shop.

During that time, a dispute started and escalated. The former brother-in-law, Israel Miranda, is said to have shot at the worker as he hid. Then, another gunshot was fired.

A little after that, the worker found the shop owner, Lucio Buruca, dead. Miranda had left the scene.

The suspect eventually went back to the scene and turned himself in to authorities. He is expected to face murder and aggravated assault charges.

Additionally, officials are still looking to recover the gun.

No other information is known, and an investigation is continuing.
