Last week, a parent dressed as the Easter Bunny accidentally gave elementary school students, in Austin, Easter eggs with condoms inside of them.
The majority of the eggs had candy in them, but some had a handful of condom packages hidden inside.
Based off a Twitter thread, several of the parents say that it was an innocent mistake.
One of the parents is employed at a pharmacy. She dressed as an Easter Bunny because of a safe-sex program at a local clinic. When she went to retrieve her child from school, the second-graders immediately ran up to her.
Then, she gave out the eggs with the candy in them. When all of the eggs were gone, she requested that her husband get more out of the car. He is said to have brought back the wrong eggs.
George P. Bush, who is running for Texas Attorney General, stated that the incident was “disgusting and illegal.”
The school district is now examining their safety protocols.
