A man was apprehended and has been charged after authorities determined that he shot his cousin as a dispute took place over Heaven and Hell. This came after a funeral occurred for one of their family members.

Last Saturday, authorities were called to Melson Avenue, in Jacksonville, Florida, in regards to someone being shot. Authorities then learned that Ke’Shawn NeSmith had gotten into a disagreement with his second cousin who is a pastor.

“The suspect did not believe in God, and the victim was a pastor who was trying to witness to him,” the police report noted.

Relatives were able to subdue NeSmith until police got to the scene.

He has been charged with attempted murder, use of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and carrying a concealed firearm as he wasn’t licensed to carry.
