Police Officer Fatally Shot, Another Wounded While Responding To Call At Hotel

Two police officers were shot after responding to a call at a hotel in Kankakee County, Illinois on Wednesday night. One of the officers died, and the other one is in critical condition.

A call was placed to authorities at the Bradley Police Department. It was in regards to dogs barking in a vehicle that was unattended at a Comfort Inn.

Subsequent to locating the vehicle, the officers went to a hotel room where the owner of the vehicle was possibly staying. As they were talking to the people in the room, the individuals began to attack the officers and shoot them.

Sgt. Marlene Rittman died, and Officer Tyler Bailey experienced severe head trauma and remains at a medical facility.

Officials haven’t arrested the suspects and are currently looking for 25-year-old Darius Sullivan who is thought to be armed and dangerous.
