52-year-old Cpl. Jeff McCullough, a Spokane, Washington, police officer, died after a golf crash accident occurred Friday, close to 9 p.m.
McCullough had been with the police force for 22 years.
“The loss is understandably shocking and heart-wrenching for the friends and family of Jeff, as well as, SPD, as a whole. Jeff was a beloved colleague and a dedicated public servant,” a statement from the department stated.
The wreck happened on West Lakeshore Road in the Priest Lake vicinity, in Idaho. A 57-year-old woman who had been navigating, lost control of the golf cart as she was heading south. It then began to roll.
Three other passengers, men and women, ages 45 to 56, including another SPD officer, were transported to the hospital.
No further details were released, and the Idaho State Police is investigating.
