A former star on the reality TV show Toddlers in Tiaras has been found dead at 16.
Kailia Posey appeared on the show when she was 5, and became recognizable after a face she made during an interview. Her grinning face was turned into a popular meme and GIF after the 2012 episode.
On Monday, Kailia’s mother, Marcy Posey Gatterman, confirmed her death and later announced that she died by suicide.
“I don’t have words or any thoughts. A beautiful baby girl is gone,” Gatterman posted to Facebook.
Washington State Police confirmed they were investigating a juvenile death at Birch Bay State Park.
Birch Bay is a 194-acre state park located along the Strait of Georgia shoreline and features a scenic rocky beach.
State police responded to the scene on Monday around 1:26 p.m. to assist the Whatcom County Sheriff’s and park service.
Posey had just celebrated her 16th birthday on April 19 and went to prom over the weekend.
Her death is still being investigated by authorities.
