Biz Markie has passed away. The rapper, most famous for his hit record, “Just a Friend,” went through many problems after combating diabetes for years.
A source has stated that Biz died at the hospital Friday evening in Baltimore. Hospital workers were encouraging to the family saying that Biz was extremely strong as he dealt with his health issues. His wife is said to have been holding his hand as he took his last breath.
Biz was from Harlem, and became notorious when his single, “Just a Friend, ” hit the Top 40 list in many countries in 1989. It also went platinum.
Biz Markie leaves a wife, numerous members of his family, and tight-knit friends to cherish his memory.
