Rapper Travis Scott has awarded $1 million in scholarships to 100 HBCU students. He wants to make certain that the Black college students of the class of 2022 graduate.

To assist in the students completing their studies successfully, Scott will give them $10,000 each. These funds will derive from the rapper’s Waymon Webster Scholarship Fund which he established in honor of his grandfather.

“This scholarship provides financial support to students and families towards final tuition fees…,” a statement reads on the foundation’s website.

In order to receive the scholarships, students have to graduate with a 3.5 GPA or higher. They must also be in need of financial help during their last semester.

There are a variety of different schools represented in the process. Texas Southern University, Prairie View A & M University, and Grambling State University are just a few of the 38 HBCUs that the students attend.

Since the Astroworld tragedy in November 2021, Scott has attempted to increase his charity work.

After being a part of private events, Travis was featured in his first public set since the tragedy, in early May.
