Actor Robert De Niro, 78, is suing an ex-employee for $6 million. He is accusing her of using a company credit account for expenses that were not work-related.
De Niro has also stated that the worker, Graham Chase Robinson, stole 7 million of his frequent flier miles, valued at $300,000, and transferred $4.5 million into her own account.
Before Robinson quit, she was first De Niro’s personal assistant and then the Vice President of his production company.
A letter sent to Robinson in 2019 claimed that she shopped on the credit card for four years. She purchased food, Uber rides, dog sitting, groceries, cameras, iPhones, Pilates classes, dry-cleaning, and flowers. It was also noted that she “helped herself to petty cash.”
Robinson is said to have paid $2,600 to stay at the Montage Hotel in Los Angeles and $604 at a dining place.
Robinson has said that the claims against her are false. She is also suing De Niro for $12 million, citing gender discrimination.
Her documents state that De Niro made her stay in a toxic work environment. In a 2012 leaked voicemail, De Niro could be heard saying to Robinson, “how dare you f***ing disrespect me.” Additionally, threatening her, he said, “you’re f***ing history.”
