SEVERAL CRUISE LINES CANCEL CRUISES FOR SPRING/SUMMER 2021 DUE TO INCREASE IN COVID CASE

Many cruise lines in Port Angeles, have decided to extend their cancellations on cruises until late spring/early summer because COVID-19 cases has continued to surge through the United States.
Princess Cruises has also announced that due to the pandemic that they have vacation cancellations through May 14, which includes sailings in the Caribbean, the California Coast, along with early season Alaska and Europe Cruises.
President Jan Swarts of Princess Cruises stated online “We appreciate the patience from our loyal guests and travel advisers as we work to meet the health and safety requirements for our return to service. We continue to prepare our ships and we are eager to see our guest back on board to create summertime memories.”
As stated by the company, all guest that are currently booked on any cancelled voyage will have the option of receiving a refundable Future Crusie Credit (FCC) that is equivalent to one hundred percent of the cruise fare paid, as well as an additional non-refundable bonus FCC that is equivalent to twenty-five percent of the cruise fare paid.
In addition to this statement, it was announced that Holland America will also be extending their pause on Cruise operations through April 30, 2021,
This cancellation included Alaska, Mexican Riviera, Pacific Coast, Caribbean, Mediterranean, and Canada/ New England.
They also state that they are working hard to prepare their ships to meet all CDC requirements in order to sail when they return.
Port of Los Angeles Officials are not far behind with officials monitoring the pandemic and working closely with The CDC, The U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, The California Department of Public Health, The Los Angles County Department of Public Health, and many other agencies.
It was stated by the Port Officials, that nearly one-hundred million dollars had been lost in the economic activity on the L.A. Waterfront due to ninety-three cruises, which account for more than seventy percent of cruises that were scheduled to visit the Port of Los Angeles in 2020, had been cancelled due to the pandemic.
Carnival Cruise lines also stated that all embarkations from the U.S. have been cancelled up to March 31, 2021.
The Cruise line has listed below all those that have been cancelled so far:
Carnival Freedom from Galveston up to April 10, 2021
Carnival Miracle from San Diego and San Francisco up to September 16, 2021
Carnival Liberty from Port Canaveral From September 17 to October 18, 2021
Carnival Sunshine from Charleston from October 11 to November 13, 2021
