Shoplifting Suspect Fatally Shot After Exchanging Gunfire With Deputies At Walmart

A man was shot and killed Sunday while trying to shoplift from a Walmart in Spring Texas.
Officers responded to a suspicion of shoplifting call on the 21100 block of Kuykendahl around 10:30pm.
According to reports the staff noticed the suspects from a previous Walmart security flyer.
They also recognized the vehicle they got into.
When officers arrived the store manage was able to say “thats them right there.”
The deputies asked the suspects to step out of the vehicle.
One suspect stepped out the vehicle with a handgun and began walking away.
When asked to stop he opened fire at the deputies.
The deputies returned fire striking and killing the suspect.
The deputies were not injured.
The other two suspects inside the vehicle fled the scene but were later arrested on interstate 45 and Rankin Rd.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit and the District Attorney’s Office are conducting investigations into the deadly shooting.
“Our deputies’ training aided them in this gun fight and we are thankful to God for watching over them,” Herman said. “Deputies will be placed on a mandatory three days off while conducting the investigation.”
