On May 13, close to 10:30 p.m., a 15-year-old was found with gunshot injuries in the 200 block of NE 7th Avenue, in Mineral Wells, Texas. The teen male was airlifted to Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth to be treated for his wounds.
The assailant left the scene before authorities arrived. He has been identified as 17-year-old Ethan Allen Plyer, and an arrest warrant for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon was issued.
On May 14, 2023, Ethan was found by officers as they were able to track him due to an ankle monitor that he was wearing as he had already been on probation.
After his apprehension, Ethan led authorities to where the firearm could be found that was used in the shooting. He was then placed in the Palo Pinto County Jail.
The victim is now out of the hospital and is expected to survive.
An investigation is continuing.
