Arlington PD arrested a man following a fatal shooting and standoff Thursday night.
Officers responded to a shooting call on the 1700 block of W. Sanford St.
Once officers arrived they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was transported to a nearby hospital where he died from his injuries.
During the investigation officers learned that the victim got into some sort of altercation with the suspect at a nearby gas station on the 1600 block of W. Randol Mill Rd.
At this time they believe the suspect followed the victim and opened fire while he was walking and fled the scene before officers could arrive.
Witnesses were able to give officers a license plate. They checked the plate and went to an address on the 1900 block of Nueces Trail.
The suspect, Justin Milem,38 initially refused to surrender to police but after SWAT arrived the suspect surrendered around midnight.
He was booked into Arlington jail and charged with murder.
The victims identity has not been released at this time.
