Suspect Arrested In Connection To Fatal Shooting In Deep Ellum

Dallas police arrested a man in connection with the fatal shooting that occurred in Deep Ellum.

Officers arrested 23 year old Roman Pargas Jr., Wednesday on a murder charge.

On August 21 officers responded to a shooting call, shortly before 3 a.m., on the 2600 block of Elm Street.

Officer’s were working the area when they heard gunshots and found 26 year old Ricky Burns laying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another man was found around the corner suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. He was transported to an area hospital and treated for non left threatening injuries.

It was said that Burns and the suspect had gotten into an argument when Pargas walked past him, opened fire and fled the scene.

Pargas is currently being held at the Dallas County Jail with no bond.
