A former Florida elementary teacher was sentences to 25 years in prison Friday for 20 counts of child molestation.
Hector Castro Manley,32 was arrested back in 2019 after multiple female students said he touched them inappropriately in class.
Authorities say the incidents occurred during the 2017-2018 school year at Parkside Elementary School.
In March 2019 Manley turned himself into police and admitted to sexually abusing at least 20 young girls.
Manley told police that some of the girls were as young as 6 years old.
He has been sentenced to 25 years in prison and is to have no contact with the victims. He also has to register as a sex offender and wear an ankle monitor.
Manley is ordered to pay more than $20,000 in restitution and court costs.
The families of the victims have since filed a negligence lawsuit against the Collier school board. They claim the school failed to protect their children from harm with regard to Manley.
