Teen Arrested For The Murder Of Transgender Woman Koko Da Doll

A 17 year old Atlanta teen has been arrested in connection with the murder of transgender Koko Da Doll.

Jermarcus Jernigan turned himself into police at the Zone 1 Precinct, on April 26 and was then transported to Fulton County Jail. He is facing charges for murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

On April 18, officers responded to a shooting call on the 2400 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. SW. Upon arrival they located the victim unresponsive on the ground. Emergency crews arrived and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The victim was later identified as Rasheeda Williams aka KoKo Da Doll, who appeared in “Kokomo City,” a documentary about Black transgender sex workers in Georgia and New York.

A motive for the fatal shooting has not been released.
