Teen Sentenced To 15 Years Behind Bars For The Murder Of A 18 Year Old At A Dallas Basketball Game

A Dallas mother says she is satisfied with the sentencing handed down Thursday to a 15 year old boy that shot and killed her 18 year old son last January at a basketball game.
The incident happened in January 2020 when Marc Strickland, a DISD student at the time, was attending a basketball game at the Ellis Davis Field House between Kimball and South Oak Cliff high schools when an altercation broke out and ended with gunfire.
Strickland was shot three times and hospitalized for a week before succumbing to his injuries.
The 15 year old juvenile was arrested and sent to a juvenile detention center.
Thursday the teen received a 15 year plea deal.
