Teen Shot At Sonic In Garland; 18 Year Old Suspect Arrested

Garland police arrested an 18 year old male they say shot a teen during a fight at a Sonic restaurant near South Garland High School.

Officers responded to a shooting call Thursday afternoon on the 3300 block of Broadway Blvd. Upon arrival they located a male victim in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was transported to a local hospital where he is stable in critical condition.

After investigating officers believe the two males got into a physical altercation that resulted in gunfire. It is still unclear what led up to the shooting.

Later that day authorities arrested the suspect, 18 year old Edgar Francisco Solis Torres. He was charged with aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury.

He is currently being held at the Garland Detention Center with no bond.

Officers also confirmed that the victim was a shooting at South Garland High School and Torres was not.

This investigation remains ongoing.

  1. And folks were on the live saying he died🤬 people ain’t 💩always putting death on folks, and then when it hits home everybody else is wrong for speaking on it or reporting it. Hope he recovers🙏🏾
