Authorities say that a 17-year-old girl in North Carolina has been left with bruises all over her face after jumping out of a moving Lyft vehicle because of the driver’s suspicious actions.
Eziya Bowden had ordered a ride home from her place of employment to her residence. However, she says that when she got into the car, the driver began to ask inappropriate questions.
“‘How many boys flirted with you?’ He said that right right away,” Bowden said.
“‘OH, you just look good. I would date you if you weren’t so young,'” she said the man continued.
A few minutes later, she stated that the driver sprayed a chemical that caused her to feel dizzy and warm. The teen thought that he was trying to drug her.
She then decided to make a quick decision that threatened her life. She jumped out of the moving car.
“I was scared, but then again..I’d rather get out of this car than fall asleep in a car with this man I don’t really know,” Bowden thought.
She blacked out once she had jumped out, and the driver eventually stopped and contacted authorities, pretending to be a concerned witness.
Bowden was taken to a hospital to be treated for her wounds.
Lyft has now banned the driver from its platform, and Bowden was refunded for her ride.
The driver isn’t facing any charges at this time.
