A Terrell, Texas, dentist has been indicted almost a year following being apprehended as an undercover sting operation was conducted. It involved individuals who supposedly intended to meet and engage in sexual activities with juveniles and other minor-related sexual offenses.
Eliphas Alinyo Osinde, 32, was taken into custody on March 24, 2022, by detectives with the Collin County Sheriff’s Office Child Exploitation Unit. Osinde manages Osinde Family Dentistry in Terrell.
When he was apprehended, Osinde faced charges of online Solicitation of a minor, sexual conduct, in relation to the undercover investigation.
On February 16, 2023, court documents were file showing that the Collin County jury returned a true bill in the matter. Osinde will make his first court appearance on March 10, 2023.
The indictment noted that Eliphas started communicating with an undercover CEU investigator who was pretending to be a 15-year-old girl. This was done via an online messaging application and text messages, in order to meet and engage in sexual activity at a park. When Eliphas, who had communicated that he was 29, showed up to the location, he was apprehended by deputies.
After he was arraigned, Osinde’s bond was placed at $50,000. He posted bond the next day and was freed under felony bond conditions, including giving up his passport. Later, Osinde filed for an affidavit of indigency.
Osinde is being represented by well-known Plano lawyer, Heather J. Barbieri. She was appointed to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s legal team in defense of charges he faced in relation to securities fraud in Collin County.
