Coach Jameus Hartsfield, a boys’ basketball coach at Marlin High School, in Marlin, Texas, has been suspended for two games.
Many believe that the coach will not be apart of the games on January 14 and 18 because he is attempting to change the view of the young men at the school.
The basketball team took pictures dressed in suits and dress shoes. Evidently, the varsity boys’ shoes left scuff marks on the dance floor at the middle school in the district.
The administration then requested that Hartsfield pay for the scuff marks to be wiped away. When Hartsfield decided that he wouldn’t pay, he was suspended for two games, according to a Facebook post.
Now, many have expressed their outrage on social media, calling for the school board to look into the matter.

This is just ignorant thinking. A floor is more important than life lessons. The person who suspended him needs to be fired. He is too ignorant to be over anyone. He needs diversity classes. Fire him! I would not want him teaching my children. Mr. Hartsfield, keep up the good work. Our young men need to hear positive things and learn how to be men of character. Shame on the district if they don’t correct this.
He shouldn’t have to pay for it. They already pay a custodial staff to keep the floor. Olive oil will take the scuffs off the darn floor.
You would think that the administration would be greatly appreciative about the positive outlook this coach is bringing to the school. This is a great looking group of young Kings. When you get back coach, please pickup where you left off with these young kings. ❤️🖤💚💪🏿

I’m retired now, however I used to do floor care and janitorial work in various gyms and the number one rule, was no dress shoes on the courts! But they look awesome and learn how to use a buffer next time! Keep being awesome!!
