A father was arrested after his 4 year old son brought a handgun to an elementary school this week in Corpus Christi, Texas.
The incident occurred Wednesday around 9:15 a.m., at the John F. Kennedy Elementary School located on the 1100 block of Villarreal.
An off duty Corpus Christi police officer working the campus immediately took possession of the weapon and secured it. The school was placed on lockdown until the weapon was secured.
Corpus Christi authorities went to the students home and quickly identified 30 year old Paul Torres, as the owner of the weapon. He was arrested and charged with making a firearm accessible to children and abandoning or endangering a child.
