A man in Stafford, Texas, will go to prison for sexually abusing his girlfriend’s child.
Jose Antonio Argueta-Santos, 32, was charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child and indecency with a child by sexual conduct. He was given 22 years in prison for the first charge and 20 years for the latter offense. He will serve this time concurrently.
In June of 2020, Fort Bend County Sheriff’s deputies arrived on scene to a home for a domestic disturbance call. They then found out that Argueta-Santos was caught abusing a nine-year old child sexually. The child’s mother was his girlfriend. Argueta-Santos was apprehended instantly.
After speaking with the child, authorities learned that previous sexual abuse from the man had occurred, as well.
“The child is a hero for having the courage to speak out and put an end to their nightmare,” stated Lead prosecutor, Charann Thompson.
