Texas Police Must Keep Bodycams Rolling During All Parts of Investigations

It is now mandatory that police all around the state of Texas record every part of investigations.

The new law comes as a result of the death of Botham Jean. Jean was killed in his own residence by ex-police officer Amber Guyger.

Guyger is currently serving time in prison on a 10-year sentence.

Prior to the new bill, officers were permitted to turn off their bodycams if parts of a “non-confrontational” incident were occurring.
