A Texas woman was arrested Friday after she shot her husband in the back while he served her divorce papers.
Officers were responding to a shooting call near SH 21 and FM 2776, when they received a call regarding an accident at SH21 and FM 2776.
When they arrived to the scene they found a male victim.
The victim was transported to an area hospital in stable condition, in which medical staff found a gunshot wound to his back.
According to reports the hospital staff contacted the victims emergency contact, which happened to be his wife Cindy Greek,69.
Gerke admitted to shooting her husband after he served the divorce papers because he wouldn’t leave the house fast enough.
Authorities arrested Gerke and she was charged with aggravated assault on a family member with a deadly weapon.
She is being held on a $30,000 bond.
