The Weather Channel has apologized for a racial slur appearing during “Iowa’s local on the 8s” weather report.

The Weather Channel’s “local on the 8s” provides updated weather information to viewer non-stop. The region is tailored to the viewer’s location.

On Thursday, viewers in Des Moines, Iowa witnessed the message, “Hello Des Moines, This is your weather my n****rs” appear on one of the graphics.

The Weather Channel released a statement, “We removed this graphic as soon as we learned of it. This did not originate with us, and we are in the process of investigating it further. We apologize to our viewers.”

It is believed to have come from the cable-end of the broadcasting.

The situation is still being investigated.
