Ryan Delanty, 20, and Thomas Schultz, 21, have been indicted in relation to a hazing case at the University of Missouri-Columbia that occurred in 2021. It resulted in a student from Minnesota being left with brain injuries.

On Friday, a Boone County grand jury, in Missouri, indicted the two for felony hazing and misdemeanors of providing liquor to a minor or intoxicated person.

Schultz is facing another charge for felony tampering with physical evidence. Both of their bonds were set at $50,000.

In October, ex-Mizzou freshman Danny Santulli, 19, was placed in the hospital. He had consumed a liter of vodka as a “Pledge Dad Reveal Night” event took place at the Phi Gamma Delta house.

Delanty was the “pledge dad” of Santulli as Schultz was vice president and treasurer of the fraternity.

“As a result of what they did to him, he has massive brain damage. He’s lost his eyesight, so he’s blind. He cannot walk, and he cannot communicate in anyway,” noted a lawsuit filed by Santulli’s family.

Alec Wetzler has also been named in the suit. He is a frat brother accused of forcing Santulli to drink beer through a tube. He has been charged with misdemeanors for supplying alcohol to a minor.

Reports state that Santulli had been on the couch, in distress, as his blood alcohol level was .468%. That is almost six times the legal limit in that state.

Thirty minutes later, he was found lying on the floor, on his face. Someone then placed him back on the couch.

Although Santulli’s lips and skin and changed colors, no one had called authorities. Eventually, he was transported to a hospital in one of the brother’s vehicle.

At the hospital, workers went to the vehicle and began CPR as Santulli wasn’t breathing and was experiencing a heart attack.

After his heart was restarted, he was placed on a ventilator until he could breathe on his own. Santulli was left with a severe brain injury.

In May, 13 students were punished for their role in the incident. Shortly after the incident happened, the fraternity was eliminated off of the campus, and the house was shut down.
