1.5kviews

After an infant was discovered deceased earlier this year, a couple in Indiana is looking at murder and neglect charges.

The Warrick County Sheriff’s Office answered to a residence in Boonville, IN, after a child was said to be unresponsive. Silas Scott, a little less than 3-months-old, was deceased when emergency crews arrived to the scene.

The sheriff’s office reported that the baby died of starvation.

Caylin Monroe, 23, and Jakob Scott, 22, Silas’ parents, were apprehended on Tuesday. They are being held without bond.

Court records show that before the child’s death both parents pleaded guilty to contributing to the delinquency of a minor and possession of marijuana in January 2022. Caylin Monore is also a part of a juvenile paternity case in relation to two of her children.
