Two people on the Texas “10 Most Wanted” List have been apprehended, said the Texas Department of Safety.
Leonard Dee Taylor, a 49 year-old sex offender, was arrested on July 23, at a Houston motel. Additionally, Fugitive Dakevian Benoit Scroggins was arrested in Tyler on July 24.
A tipster provided the information on Taylor’s whereabouts through Crimestoppers and $3,000 in reward money will be paid.
Authorities had been searching for Taylor since 2018. Furthermore, he was in trouble for failing to comply with sex offender registration requirements. In 2003, he received a 20 year sentence for two counts of aggravated sexual assault. The victims were 4 year-old and 9 year-old girls.
Scroggins, 27, was discovered at an apartment complex. He is suspected of a shooting in May during a robbery in Tyler, Texas. Scroggins was wanted for capital murder, evading/arrest detention, and parole violation. He has a record that entails felony convictions of assault on a public servant and possession of a prohibited weapon.
