Two Officers Injured After Armed Suspect Gets On DART Bus And Leads Them On Chase

A suspect is in custody after hijacking a DART bus and shooting two officers Sunday afternoon.
The incident happened around 11am when the suspect got on a bus in Richardson on the 2900 block of W. Buckingham and opened fire shattering several windows.
There were passengers on the bus when the suspect demanded the bus driver to take him somewhere.
Garland and Rowlett police began chasing the bus and eventually stopped in Rowlett near George Bush Turnpike and Liberty Grove.
The suspect then hung out the windows of the bus and began firing at officers injuring two of them.
A DART Officer was struck in the leg and a Rowlett officer was struck in the neck and they were both transported to a nearby hospital with non life threatening injuries.
The suspect was shot by officers and transported to a nearby hospital where he died.
