3.5kviews

On Thursday afternoon, two people were shot as a funeral took place at Graceland Cemetery, in Racine, Wisconsin.

One person was airlifted to the hospital and was in stable condition. Another person, a girl, received medical attention and was then released.

Two weeks ago, Da’Shontay King was fatally shot by a Racine police officer. The funeral home confirmed that the funeral services had been for him.

Around 2:25 p.m., authorities received several calls, regarding people being shot.

“I heard that it was mass chaos here. People were running and people were screaming,” stated a spokesperson from the police department. 20-30 shots were said to have been fired.

No other information has been released, and no one is in custody at this time.

Officer Zachary Brenner had shot and killed King during a traffic stop. Authorities say that they had been conducting a search warrant on a car when King fled from the vehicle. Police say that King had a firearm in his possession.

It isn’t exactly known why Brenner shot King. Police did say that King took an action that prompted the officer to discharge his weapon. However, the Wisconsin Department of Justice hasn’t stated what that action involved.
