39-year-old Eduardo Castelan-Prado, of New Jersey, and 32-year-old Jose Ochoa, of California, were given 40 years in prison in relation to the kidnapping of a teen in Philadelphia, in 2021.

The pair was also given five years of supervised release, following being found guilty of kidnapping and conspiracy to commit kidnapping charges back in June.

The two men, along with another person, abducted a 17-year-old from the parking lot of a restaurant where he was employed, on June 14, 2021.

Authorities say that the group transported the teen to an apartment complex in New Jersey. They then kept him at gunpoint and demanded $500,000 from the victim’s parents.

Police and FBI agents were able to track phone calls to the area of the apartment complex. The teen was found on June 16, 2021, and the kidnappers were apprehended.

The third person involved was shot and killed by federal agents when they were found. Those details aren’t known.

The case was investigated by multiple agencies in Philadelphia and Newark, NJ.
