On Wednesday night, two women were killed in River Oaks, a suburb of Fort Worth, Texas, in a crash involving two pickup trucks that had been racing.
The incident occurred just after 9 p.m. on River Oaks Boulevard, close to Jacksboro Highway.
Cindy Griffin 37 and 17-year-old Madison Lake were killed.
Authorities say that two vehicles had been racing going east on River Oaks Boulevard. One of them slammed into the car that Griffin was driving. The speed limit on the street was 40 mph.
The women had just left a fast-food restaurant after picking up Madison’s boyfriend, 20-year-old Bishop Kline who was in critical condition.
River Oaks police and Fort Worth police are investigating the case, and no one has been charged as of yet.
One of the racing drivers has been hospitalized, as well.
