Shawn Sommers, Raymond Witkowski, and David Pfindel have all quit their jobs as Vermont State Troopers. This comes after they were busted in a plan to make fake COVID-19 vaccination cards, authorities have stated.
Sommers quit the job on August 10. Witkowski quit when another officer gained knowledge of their activities and told supervisors. When the Department of Public Safety began to look into the allegations, Pfindel resigned on September 3.
“If these accusations are proved to be true, it is reprehensible that state troopers would manipulate vaccination cards in the midst of a pandemic…,” stated the director Of Vermont State Police.
Because the crime could be a violation of federal law, the FBI has joined the investigation.
The Vermont State Police is continuing to investigate the case. Although they didn’t release many details, they said that the officers are, “suspected of having varying roles in the creation of fraudulent COVID-19 vaccination cards.”
