Widow Of Euless Detective Files Wrongful Death Lawsuit Against Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, Intoxicated Driver And Bartender

The widow of a North Texas police detective filed a lawsuit on Thursday against Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, General Motors, and the drunk driver who fatally hit her husband’s vehicle. A bartender at Fuzzy’s has been accused of overserving the driver and was named in the lawsuit, as well.

27-year-old Dylan Molina was apprehended in November 2021 for running a red light and striking the off-duty Euless police officer’s vehicle in Lake Worth. This led to the death of Alejandro “Alex” Cervantes and critically wounded his wife, Priscilla, and their two children who were in the vehicle, too.

Tests showed that Molina’s blood alcohol level was 0.16 when he hit the Cervantes’s car on Nov. 27, 2021. This is twice the legal limit in Texas.

26-year-old Cala Richardson, the bartender at Fuzzy’s, surrendered to authorities on Feb.3. This came after she was charged with overserving Molina.

Pricilla Cervantes has cited negligence, defective vehicle design, and injuries to herself and children in the lawsuit.

She is asking for over $1 million in monetary relief.

In February 2022, Molina was indicted and pleaded guilty to intoxication manslaughter and three counts of intoxication assault. He was sentenced to 15 years on the manslaughter charge and 10 years for each charge of assault.
