Woman Arrested After Stealing 52-Foot Yacht In Galveston

On Monday, a woman had an enjoyable time after she stole a 52-foot yacht.

The incident occurred around 11 a.m. Authorities answered to a call about a 52-foot Jefferson Monticello motor yacht named ” Loyalty.”

Galveston, Texas, police stated that a woman got onto the yacht somehow. She then sailed off onto Offatts Bayou. The listed sales price for the vessel was just below $170,000.

With the help of the U.S. Coast Guard and the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office, authorities were able to track down a suspect, Renee Waguespack. She was still on the yacht when it was found.

Waguespack has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and possession of a controlled substance. This came after 4 grams of what seemed to be methamphetamine was discovered on her, authorities say.

Police are unclear as to how the woman obtained the keys to the yacht.

Waguespack was being held at the Galveston County Jail.
