An Arlington woman has been arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter after causing a crash, resulting in a 37 year old man’s death.
The crash happened early Sunday morning, around 2:30am, at the intersection of N. Collins St and I-30 westbound service rd.
According to reports Bernida Collins,50 was driving a Hyundai Sonata when she ran a red light and struck a Honda HRV.
The driver of the Honda was a rideshare driver with two passengers in the backseat.
Both passengers were transported to an area hospital where one was pronounced dead and the other in stable condition.
The rideshare driver was treated for minor injuries.
Collins was also transported to a local hospital.
Based on evidence gathered at the scene officers believe Collins was intoxicated. They obtained a search warrant for her blood and a blood draw. She faces charges of intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault with a vehicle causing serious bodily injury.
