A woman is facing murder charges after police say she intentionally poured gasoline in the backseat of a car where her boyfriend was sitting and lit it on fire.

The incident happened on July 18, at a gas station, on the 1900 block of E. Mayfield Road around 9 p.m.

Apparently the couple had been arguing when the woman walked into the store and paid for .50 worth of gas. She then walked outside and dispersed the alcohol into the backseat of a car where her boyfriend 25 year old Ricky Doyle was sitting.

The woman who was identified as 24-year-old Breana Johnson then walked to the other side of the car and set it on fire.

Doyle jumped out of the vehicle and multiple people quickly tried to help extinguish the fire as Johnson drove away.

Emergency crews arrived and transported Doyle to a hospital in Collin County where he died days later.

On July 19, Johnson was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault.

Since Doyle’s death Johnson’s charges have been upgraded to murder and she is being held in the Tarrant County Jail.
