Dallas police are investigating a shooting that left one woman dead and another critically injured.
According to reports an off duty officer working construction traffic on E.R.L Thornton Frwy noticed a crashed vehicle.
The officer then contacted Dallas police about a crashed vehicle with two gunshot victims inside.
Upon arrival they found one woman suffering from a gunshot wound to the back.
She was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
Another woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
During the investigation officers spoke with witnesses that said the incident started at a Super 7 Inn.
Apparently the victim was with the suspect in the room when he asked her to leave. She became upset and went to get some of her female friends.
An altercation ensued and escalated to a shooting.
The women fled the scene but crashed at the motel entrance.
The suspect was apprehended at the motel and taken into custody.
Authorities also retrieved the weapon at the scene.
