Woman Fatally Shot In Houston Home While Her Five Children Were Sleeping

Houston police are investigating after they found a 28 year old woman deceased inside a home while her five children slept.

Officers responded to a shooting call on the 5900 block of Cypresswood Green Park, around 4am Monday morning.

Upon arrival they found a 28 year old woman deceased from a gunshot wound inside.

According to reports, the victim and a male suspect had some sort of altercation involving a gun when it discharged.

When it struck the victim the suspect fled the scene before officers could arrive.

The identity of the suspect has not been released at this time. Authorities are obtaining a warrant for his arrest.

Authorities also found five young children between the ages of 3-8 asleep in the home. They were not injured.
