A woman has confessed to hitting her estranged neighbor with a 10 lb. package of ground beef after seeing her inside of a Walmart in Ohio.
On Tuesday, 27-year-old Maneka Garner pleaded no contest to disorderly conduct for the incident that occurred in May 2021.
Prosecutors stated that Garner was given a 30-day jail sentence, one year probation, and a $155 fine.
Garner had been out shopping with her 5-year-old son when she noticed 37-year-old Precious Jackson and her daughter, 7, at the South Euclid supercenter.
Garner approached Jackson in the potato chip aisle, stripped her face mask down, and tried to spit on her. She then warned that she would beat Jackson and her daughter up.
Garner then got a $22 meat log out of Jackson’s basket and hit her with it “a couple of times on the face,” authorities stated.
Prior to this incident, Jackson had gotten a restraining order against Garner while living beneath her at a duplex. Garner told police that she thought that the order of protection was expired.
Documents show that Garner had been first charged with assault and violating a restraining order.
