Although an analysis has shown that crime has decreased there, another stabbing has occurred inside of the New York City subway system.

At around 8:30 p.m., on Wednesday night, a man got into a physical altercation with two women on the platform of the Jackson Avenue station in the Bronx. The suspect drew a knife and stabbed a 30 year-old woman in the back. Her wound was said to be about two to three inches deep. She was transported to a medical facility with non-life threating injuries.

Authorities say her 28 year-old sister was unharmed. They believe that the man was upset because the women rejected his advances.

Police were still looking for the suspect who is in his 20s or 30s and was wearing dark clothes.
