Shooting in Deep Ellum Leaves Woman Injured

Dallas police are investigating a shooting in Deep Ellum that left a woman injured.

At approximately 1:45 a.m. on June 16, officers responded to reports of gunfire near Good Latimer Expressway and Main Street, outside Punch Bowl Social. When they arrived, they found a woman not far from the scene suffering with a head injury and transported her to a nearby hospital for treatment. Her condition is currently unknown.

Police believe she may have fallen and hit her head while trying to take cover from the crossfire.

The investigation suggests that two groups involved in an altercation outside businesses near Main Street and Malcolm X Boulevard. The conflict escalated into a gunfight between two vehicles, which sped through the area firing guns as pedestrians fled for safety.

Multiple parked cars along Good Latimer Expressway were damaged by gunfire, but no other injuries have been reported. The suspects fled the scene before officers arrived and are still at large.

Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage and continuing their efforts to identify those responsible.
