An officer-involved shooting occurred Wednesday morning on Fairview Ave. in Old East Dallas when a man wielding a knife advanced towards officers after failing to comply with commands. He was shot, later died at the hospital, and no officers were injured; his identity has not been released.
That was uncalled for they have other compliance weapons, sounds like trigger Hapy cop’s !!!
He was out of control, armed with a knife and attempting to kick in doors to a number of residences along Fairview. He was bleeding, armed with a knife, and hell-bent on assaulting someone with his knife. Police were called and attempted to get him to drop the knife but he did not comply instead ran toward them with the knife in hand in a threatening manner. He was tased twice but did not react to the tase. He pursued them as they tried to keep room/space between them and him. He refused to follow their commands and ran toward them with the knife raised in a threatening manner and obvious intent to injure the officer(s) or worse. He left police with no other choice but to protect themselves and citizens in the immediate area.
