On July 9, 2025, Dallas Police responded to reports of 37-year-old Jake Miller acting erratically with knives. Officers used less-lethal methods without success, and when Miller charged at them, Officer Anthony Pargas shot him. Miller later died at the hospital, and an investigation is ongoing by the Dallas Police Special Investigations Unit and the District Attorney’s Office.

Obvious mental issues, attempting to kick in or force doors open on residences with two knives in hand, bleeding, is cutting himself, charging officers, refusing to drop knife(s), shot with alternative shots with no effect. no other choice but to shoot to stop him. Obvious justifiable shooting to stop his aggresive armed threatening behavior.
