Dallas Fire Rescue Responds to Deadly House Fire

A man tragically died in a house fire early Saturday morning in Dallas.

According to reports, Dallas Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire at approximately 4:45 a.m. at a residence on the 3000 block of Sumter Drive.

Upon arrival, firefighters observed flames coming from the front door and learned that someone might be inside the home. They swiftly deployed hoses and forced entry into the house to carry out a search and rescue.

Inside, they discovered an unconscious man near the front entrance. Emergency personnel evacuated him promptly, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The fire was extinguished by firefighters before 6 a.m.

Dallas Fire Rescue indicated that the fire’s cause is currently under investigation and will remain undetermined until the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office completes its examination of the victim’s cause of death.
